19th May - Ebb & Flow

Sally Percival joined us from Ebb & Flow, the Atlantic Rowing Team, to tell us about her adventure ( ordeal ?) in the World's Toughest Rowing race. From shredded hands to sore bottoms and dried food, she took us through her journey. Encounters with marlins and dolphins to sea birds who kept them company . Through glorious sunrises and the horrendous storms, the three rowers overcame setbacks with loss of battery power and leaks to safely get to Antigua.

They were met with a hero's welcome - and rightly so , although most of us thought the whole idea of rowing across the Atlantic is a small boat was utter madness!
