Crafty Tip - Tie Pockets

Thanks to Belles member Jenny Carrington for this brilliant idea.

Here are a few of the “tie pockets” I have made to keep my hand sanitiser & mask safe in my handbag. They only take a few minutes to make. (Make sure you ask the owner before cutting up their ties). I normally cut the tie about 19” long. Leaving the discarded part to make snakes for my granddaughter! I fold up the bottom turning over the rough edge where you have cut and sew up the sides. I turn the flap over at the top and sew a small press stud on the point of the tie. I put the mask & hand sanitiser in a small plastic bag first so that you don’t have to wash the tie pocket so often. I think the attached photo will help. Happy sewing.
