Monkey World Trip- 18th October 2025

Nine of the Belles visited Monkey World near Bovington on Saturday and were lucky enough to have our own personal tour guide in the shape of Alison , our speaker from last month. We made sure to abide by all the rules and regulations "no monkey suits to be worn " !! and not to feed them.

A few of us were a bit unsure about captive animals, especially after seeing the chimpanzees' inside pen as they all looked very miserable. But it was a cold day and we have to remember that most of them had been rescued from horrible lives as photographers props or from closed down zoos.

The orangutans were much happier swinging through their enclosures and we were lucky enough to see 2 babies havng their bottles of milk. They were both rescued when their respective mothers rejected them.

As the largest ape rescue sanctuary in the world, the staff and volunteers do an amazing job to give these animals a safe life.
