Our inaugural walk saw 12 of us tackle Roydon Woods. We were met by a carpet of wonderful bluebells and the weather was beautiful. From the scenic crossing of Lymington River we caught a glimpse of Roydon House, an impressive red brick Manor House gifted in 1240 by Henry III as a monastery. St Nicholas Church where we parked contains Commonwealth War graves. Some of us rewarded ourselves afterwards with tea and cakes at Rosie Lea's tearoom at Setley. We look forward to our next walk.
